Ubisoft Reveals Future Plans for Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Remake Confirmed

Ubisoft today laid out their plans for the future of the Assassin's Creed franchise, including a remake of a beloved classic.

Ubisoft and the Assassin's Creed franchise are no stranger to turmoil. Questions about the future of the publisher and franchise have remained up in the air ever since Ubisoft and Tencent cut a deal to spin major franchises, including Assassin's Creed, into a co-owned "Creative House" known as Vantage Studios. Then, they announced that Martin Schelling (Head of Assassin's Creed Brand), Jean Guesdon (Head of Content), and François de Billy (Head of Production Excellence) would assume full leadership of Assassin's Creed. After all that, though, we still had no idea what would come next for the franchise.

That all changed today with Ubisoft formally announcing the future plans for the franchise. These include the end of content updates for Assassin's Creed Shadows, the confirmation that previously announced titles are still coming, and that old classics are returning in new, exciting ways.
