The Assassin's Creed franchise just got an absolutely massive update from Ubisoft with the confirmation of several upcoming projects, but one update is going relatively under the radar despite being one of the most tangible announcements yet. Headed by the return of Jean Guesdon as the Head of Content for the franchise, AC is starting its exciting new phase with a free download for one of the franchise's most iconic entries, Assassin's Creed Unity.
While the news was largely overshadowed by the long-overdue announcement of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Remake, Ubisoft also announced that the French Revolution-era AC Unity is getting a 60fps patch for Xbox Series X|S and the PlayStation 5. In addition to the free update, Ubisoft is also offering a free window to try out Unity and several other AC titles for free between April 2 and April 6 through Xbox Free Play Days.
Even if the free update for Assassin's Creed Unity might not be as exciting as a major AC remake announcement, it's still a fantastic reason to revisit one of the best entries in the series, which has received several major overhauls since it's rocky all the way back...
