Though the original trilogy is obviously brilliant in its own right, few games have ever managed to deliver on all fronts quite as well as Halo: Reach did when it first released in 2010.

Moving away from having the player step into the combat boots of Master Chief was always going to be a risky move, given how intrinsically connected to the franchise the character is, but it paid off massively.

Instead, we got to play as Noble Six, a member of an elite force of super-soldiers known as Noble Team. It distilled everything the franchise was meant to represent into one release, and the squad has since become iconic for their escapades during the game's story. Now, they are about to return for the first time in a long time, and in a way that few would have seen coming.

As first reported by ComicBook, Mantic Games have revealed a brand-new expansion for their flagship franchise tabletop game, Halo: Flashpoint, which brings Noble Team into the game for the first time, and marks their only appearance in a Halo game since the aforementioned Reach.
