Super Mario Run is holding a brand-new event to celebrate the upcoming launch of the Switch 2 Edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder. The Super Mario franchise has experimented with a wide variety of spin-offs throughout its storied history, with the iconic Italian plumber taking on plenty of different genres. Mario, Luigi, and friends have been featured in everything from sports and racing games to story-driven RPGs and puzzle games, with some of the most successful games in the series coming from its spin-offs. Mario even received his own mobile game in the form of Super Mario Run.
Super Mario Run's initial release in late 2016 was a groundbreaking moment for both the franchise and Nintendo as a whole. The Mario endless runner game's debut not only marked the character's first appearance in an official mobile game, but also the first Nintendo-developed mobile game from one of the developer's major franchises for iOS and Android.
