Fortnite Save the World Is Finally Getting the Update Fans Have Been Asking For

Epic Games has announced that, after years of waiting, Fortnite's Save the World mode will finally become free-to-play. Fortnite became incredibly popular in 2017 due to the launch of its Battle Royale game mode. Given the attention that Battle Royale got, the developers made it their main focus. However, Save the World was supposed to be the primary game mode and the first thing that came to mind when players thought of "Fortnite."

Save the World is a PvE tower defense mode; players have to put up a storm shield and defend their base from oncoming hordes of zombies. As the developers shifted their focus towards Battle Royale, Save the World was put on the back burner. This, of course, disappointed its fans, as new content for it became scarce over the years.

Fortnite is hinting at a brand-new point of interest set to arrive in the game as part of the upcoming Chapter 7 Season 2 update.
