The future of the console market is in a really weird place right now, with both PlayStation and Xbox's overall plans and goals for the next few years a bit up in the air, particularly with all the changes to the management structure at the latter.

Xbox have confirmed that Project Helix is on the way, their approach to the next generation of hardware, which is set to further integrate their hardware with PC players. We don't have the exact specs yet, but it seems as though the machine is designed to be ultra premium, so we can expect it to cost a lot more than previous consoles when it does drop.

On the PlayStation side of things, there will be a PlayStation 6 at some point, with the current generation serving as a massive commercial success for Sony thus far. Fluctuations in the component market (thanks to AI demand) led to rumors that the console could be delayed until 2029, but it looks like we could be getting our hands on it a lot sooner than that.
