Cancelled Fallout Game Leaves Gamers Questioning Bethesda

The Fallout franchise is just about as popular as it has ever been right now, with the Prime Video adaptation bringing the post-apocalypse to a whole new audience and increasing demands for more playing experiences in the world Bethesda is now the steward of.

As such, it would be a reasonable assumption that getting new games into the hands of players would be a real priority for the development giant, with rumors of remakes for Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas continuing to swirl.

Now, it seems that another game was in the works that was set to serve as a spin-off of sorts, but the realities of modern game production have seemingly come home to roost once again.

If you missed the news, The Jeff Gerstmann Show confirmed that an unannounced Fallout project that had previously been in development at another studio within Microsoft’s gaming division has apparently now been canceled (via TwistedVoxel). At the same time, he also alleged that both of the remake projects have been outsourced to other developers.

Given just how profitable Fallout could be for both Microsoft and Bethesda, it seems utterly bizarre that they aren't able to efficiently take advantage of...
