Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail is beginning its transition into the next expansion, and it couldn’t come sooner. While the post-cycle content in the latest MMO expansion has been decent when it comes to the raids, the 7.0 experience was less than appealing. Square Enix was coming off its high of Shadowbringers and Endwalker, but unfortunately Dawntrail didn’t quite live up to expectations from a writing and story perspective.
Thankfully, in less than a year’s time (provided trends on release timings continue), the next expansion will be out, hopefully ushering us into a brighter tomorrow. With that said, we still have at least two more major story patches to go before that happens, with one of them out April 28, and the other in early September.
The Standard
Starting off with what’s more of the same, the next patch will feature new main story quests, a dungeon (The Clyteum) and a trial (Enuo). This is something we’ve become very accustomed to throughout the entire Final Fantasy XIV patch cycle.
