The Pokémon franchise has been through a ton of ups and downs over the years, with everyone having their own personal favorites, as well as releases which just didn't hit the mark. Pokémon Black and White are arguably some of the most divisive, but their collective reputations have certainly improved over the years.
Releasing all the way back in 2010, Pokémon Black and White certainly had its strengths, breaking the record for the most new 'mons introduced to the franchise in one go, with 156. It also added other nice features like seasonal cycles and animated sprites, but it wasn't all good news.
Many felt the games didn't innovate enough, and that many of the designs for the ridiculous number of new Pokémon were somewhat lacking. As such, it's perhaps surprising that so many have called for remakes to bring the Black and White formula into 2026, but they continue to grow nonetheless.
