Pokémon Pokopia has been something of a revelation for the series, pivoting in a life simulation direction that's been earning rave reviews from fans. As modern Pokémon games struggle to earn consistent acclaim, Pokopia's less divisive success is a much-needed breath of fresh air. Rather than wanting a direct sequel, though, some fans would like to see developer Omega Force return to the series that laid the groundwork for Pokopia.
X user Jake Randall used Pokémon Pokopia's popularity as an opportunity to shout out Dragon Quest Builders 2, a previous game from Omega Force that focuses on a similar gameplay loop. Randall refers to Pokopia as "literally just Dragon Quest Builders 3," suggesting that its rave reception has been gratifying as a Dragon Quest Builders 2 fan. Plenty of comments agree, although not everyone shares the exact same opinion.
Randall doesn't put down Pokémon Pokopia in his attempt to promote Dragon Quest Builders, but some other fans are willing to take a strong stance. Kirk Rekve calls Dragon Quest Builders "a way better game," and CulturesPassion suggests that Pokopia diehards would be "blown away" by the Dragon Quest alternative.
