Elder Scrolls 6 Be Damned, TES Fans Have A Major 2026 Release To Celebrate

The wait for The Elder Scrolls 6 feels as endless as ever, but the latest update on another Elder Scrolls project is a lot more promising. While the latest Starfield update and PS5 port could well be Bethesda's biggest news for the year, fans, as usual, are more than willing to pick up the slack. Skyblivion, the fan-made project to bring Oblivion to the Skyrim engine, could very well be the most anticipated of the bunch.

In a new Skyblivion stream, project lead Rebel asserted that "Skyblivion's in a great place" and suggested that the team is "doing a lot of bugfixing" to ensure that the mod will release "as soon as possible," as reported by Rock Paper Shotgun. That's not exactly a promise that it will release soon, but after the most recent delay to 2026, it suggests that the 2026 plan is presumably still in place.

The road to The Elder Scrolls: Skyblivion's release has been a long one. Development began in 2012 and expanded in scope as time went on, shifting from the idea of a direct port to a full-blown remake. Bethesda ultimately beat the Skyblivion team to the punch with The Elder Scrolls...
