The announcement of The Elder Scrolls VI at E3 2018 during Bethesda's showcase was understandably met with a ton of excitement by fans of the franchise, most of whom had been blown away by Skyrim and couldn't wait to see what the developer was going to bring them next.
That was almost eight years ago, and we have heard almost nothing about the game ever since, leading almost all of that excitement to be replaced by desperation. Given that there were only five years between the release of the fourth and fifth game in the series, the fact that we're still sitting here 15 years later without another release is pretty tough to take.
As such, any time Bethesda Head Honcho Todd Howard appears in public for a relatively rare interview, it's an inevitability that he's going to be asked just how far along they are in the development process.
