As the live service arena continues to grow, there will always be studios and publishers that think they can take on the big dogs. But the reality is that so much of the arena is oversaturated, and it can be tough to stand out. To that end, PlayStation is addressing a recent closure that left many fans up in arms.

Over on ResetEra, fans are confirming that Sony has been refunding folks who spent money on the game, leaving them wondering when other platforms will do the same.

This week, fans are noticing that they're receiving refunds for Highguard, which permanently shut down on March 12, less than two months after its launch. Sony is evidently doing this automatically, making good on the fact that fans purchased content for a defunct game.

If you haven't played Highguard, you're probably wondering, "What is there to buy?" The answer? A lot. Despite that it was a completely new IP that only had one trailer debut at The Game Awards, Highguard was littered from top to bottom with cosmetic DLC, asking fans to pay up after getting in the free-to-play door.
