PS5 Gamers Have Wasted Absolutely Zero Time Pre-Ordering Xbox's Starfield

PlayStation 5 gamers have jumped on the opportunity to pre-order Bethesda's space RPG Starfield after its announcement for the platform. Starfield already finds itself near the top of the PlayStation Store's pre-order charts, as the Xbox console exclusive finally makes its way to the PlayStation 5 for the first time.

Bethesda recently confirmed that Starfield is coming to PS5 on April 7, 2026, alongside the Free Lanes update and Terran Armada expansion. The game first launched on PC and Xbox Series X/S in September 2023, so it has taken two and a half years for it to arrive on Sony's console. After Microsoft's purchase of Bethesda, keeping Starfield as an Xbox console exclusive was a major statement from the company, even if it was always expected to arrive on the PlayStation 5 at some point.

With Starfield somewhat failing to stick the landing, the future of Bethesda and its upcoming game output seems pretty clear.
