PlayStation Plus has been a compelling offering for those who main either of Sony's flagship consoles for some time, with players able to score a ton of value via the monthly free games offerings and access to the ever-growing catalog of titles available to subscribers.

That said, it doesn't come cheap, particularly at the higher tiers, and it's at a semi-reasonable limit where it doesn't feel exploitative whilst, at the same time, creating reasonable value for Sony to be incentivized to continue offering it.

If the price were to go up, it would certainly come as a massive disappointment to many, particularly given rising costs elsewhere in the games industry, and there is a world where that could happen sooner than any of us would like.

Over on Reddit, one user shared an advertisement from PlayStation, in which they bill PlayStation Plus as a service that's available from $14.99 per month. The obvious flaw in that is that it's currently available from $9.99 per month, at the Essentials tier, with $14.99 the current price for the Extra tier, which is where you really start unlocking access to almost all of the monthly free games.
