Resident Evil is now officially 30 years old, and executive producer Jun Takeuchi is celebrating by sharing a heartfelt message to the fans that made this milestone possible in the first place. The Resident Evil franchise is one of the most notable horror series in gaming, and the fact that it has been going strong for three decades is definitely a feat worth celebrating.

It's only three months into 2026, but the year has already proven to be a big one for the Resident Evil franchise. Resident Evil Requiem was released at the end of February, and it quickly set a series sales record. So far, Resident Evil Requiem's sales are estimated to be around 6 million copies, and that number is only going to increase as the year continues. Such strong numbers are a great way to ring in the franchise's 30th anniversary, and Capcom seems excited about the series' future.
