Following the news that a fan-made The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker browser game is taking the internet by storm, fans are feeling divided after realizing that, despite being a cool project, it may be the only modern-day Wind Waker remake we may get for quite some years.

First released back in 2003 for the GameCube, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, once again, followed the story of Link as he embarks on a quest to rescue his sister from the sorcerer Ganon. With the help of Triforce, a sacred wish-granting relic, and Tetra, an incarnation of Princess Zelda, Wind Waker marked a new feature for The Legend of Zelda franchise by setting the game on a group of islands across a vast sea.

Receiving critical acclaim for its visuals, gameplay, level design, and story, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker is considered one of Nintendo's best, but despite a high-definition remaster being released back in 2013 for the Wii U, and launching as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive as part of its Classics Collection, Wind Waker has yet to receive that 4K remaster that we are all waiting for.
