Debates about the expected price of Grand Theft Auto 6 have been ongoing for years, but the real cost of the game probably won't lie in its price tag. With the skyrocketing costs of hardware as of late, those looking to invest in a good setup for playing the game could be taking quite a hit to the wallet.
A post from GTA 6 Countdown on X highlights the recent price increase for the PS5 Pro, which now costs over $1,000 when a couple of basic accessories are included. The console and controller alone just jumped from $750 (already a step up from its original $700 MSRP) to $900, the disc drive costs $79, and the stand to use the console vertically costs $29. Add in tax, and the cost of investing in the ideal GTA 6 setup becomes truly intimidating.
Plenty of fans aren't planning to purchase a PS5 Pro just to play GTA 6, but it's not hard to see why the console costs are concerning to GTA players. GTA 6 won't be releasing on PC this year, and the trailers so far suggest that the graphics could be extremely demanding for the PS5 and Xbox Series...
