Fans Hyped For Halo: Campaign Evolved Xbox Games Showcase Shadowdrop

Without any new information on Halo: Campaign Evolved, a remake of the original, legendary Halo: Combat Evolved, fans are looking in unexpected places for hints at a possible release date, including soda brand promotions. Microsoft is already gearing up for this year's Xbox Games Showcase in June, which will finally shed more light on Gears of War: E-Day, but some Halo sleuths are predicting the presentation to also be where Halo: Campaign Evolved is shadowdropped.

Xbox is running a promotion with Fanta – ostensibly to celebrate the gaming brand's 25th anniversary – which will let players earn in-game rewards via "special-edition Fanta packaging." One of said rewards is The Master Chief's Fantastic (get it?) Spartan Armor, an orange colorway for John-117's suit that is redeemable upon Halo: Campaign Evolved's launch. A Reddit thread from a now-deleted account points out that similar brand partnerships from Xbox have only lasted a few months at most, indicating Halo: Campaign Evolved may have a surprise release around the time of the Xbox Games Showcase.
