The beloved Legend of Zelda franchise may still reign under the Nintendo banner, but with demands higher than ever recently, especially following the success of Breath of the Wild and its Tears of the Kingdom sequel, Nintendo has reached out to second and third parties to get the assistance it needs. As such, companies such as Monolith Soft have been aiding The Legend of Zelda developer for the past few years, especially when it came to the development of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

So what does this mean for the future of the beloved franchise which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year?

Now thanks to a recent interview with Monolith Soft, we have gained more insight into its assistance with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, as well as what this means for the next major adaptation in the beloved franchise.
