Whenever a new console is on the horizon, fans either get excited about the next generation or lament having to drop hundreds of dollars on a new device. For the PlayStation 6 era, it's a little bit of both.

Fans are torn right now over the release year of the PlayStation 6, with some wanting it to come earlier and others requesting a later release. Either way, it'll be ready when Sony says so, but fans on Reddit are debating the right time.

With the PlayStation 6 coming in the next few years, according to insiders, even hardcore Sony fans are starting to get anxious about buying a new machine. Understandably, since gaming has been getting even more expensive in recent years, some fans want Sony to cool off: "Can we just….not? Isn’t gaming tech good enough with current consoles? Can we all just leave the next gen for at least another 5 years?"
