Papers, Please and Return of the Obra Dinn developer Lucas Pope recently had an interview with Mike Rose and Rami Ismail of 'Mike & Rami Are Still Here' where he spoke about his creative process, and his thoughts on the gaming industry.
Pope raised an interesting point about how his feelings around sharing snippets of in-development projects have changed, because you now risk your work being stolen by limited language models (LLM) or other people using the technology.
"I don't get to the point where it's done that much," Pope says, reflecting on his unfinished projects. "I do have this kind of curse that I really want to finish things, actually. I'm very production-focused in the sense that I want the production to work. I want it to be efficient. I want it to finish. I want to actually produce something at the end."
As much as everyone enjoys the process, a lot of creatives and artists would rather show something to the public at the end of their respective ordeals.
