Dark Souls is an institution at this point. It spawned a whole subgenre of games, and although Demon's Souls came first on PS3, Dark Souls really cemented the series' pedigree and set the tone going forward. Some fans feel it's fine as is (or prefer the remaster), but others have been clamoring for a remake.
Over on YouTube, you can get a look at a seriously impressive remaster that has fans stunned by how well it's turning out.
The Dark Souls RTX Remix project is progressing nicely, and we got to see an early work-in-progress test this week. The clip shows off a few key areas of the game, including the Undead Burg and Anor Londo. The detail in the latter is impressive, and fans are begging the project not to clutter it up with fog "like other RTX projects."
Gabdeg credits the following community members for the project: "Done with the Vibe Reverse Engineering toolset by E-Man, with contributions by Kim, based on xoxor4d's CodeBase for Remix Compatiblity Mods. Sky implementation by CR. It wouldn't have been possible without these great folks and their hard work!"
There is some criticism, though, best voiced...
