Star Wars Eclipse May Be In Trouble

Quantic Dream's Star Wars Eclipse was revealed over four years ago, and has yet to receive a second trailer. Set to take place in the High Republic era – a relatively new venture for the franchise at large – Star Wars Eclipse remains almost entirely mysterious except for some narrative leaks reportedly spread by the developer itself. This bit of hype-building may not have paid off, though, as a new report indicates development is moving along very slowly.

Star Wars Eclipse's production being "very slow going," according to Insider Gaming, may ultimately be the least of Quantic Dreams worries, though. The "financial viability" of the project has come under scrutiny from investor NetEase, and Star Wars Eclipse's funding is now "really relying on Spellcasters Chronicles [...] to bring in revenue that can then be spent on Eclipse's development." Spellcasters Chronicles is a live-service multiplayer game developed by Quantic Dream that entered early access on Steam last month.
