Thanks to early datamining, Genshin Impact players now have a full overview of Nicole's ability kit, as the 5-Star Pyro Catalyst is set to elevate Varka (and other hypercarries) to new heights. With Version 6.5 going live on April 8, 2026, Genshin Impact is entering its beta testing phase for Version 6.6 – a patch that promises to be entirely focused on the Hexerei. Not only is Nicole making her debut as a universal Hexerei Support, but Version 6.6 is also introducing Lohen and Prune: two complementary Hexerei characters.
Rumors initially painted Nicole as three things: a Pyro Shielder, a Hexerei Healer, and Varka's ideal teammate. It's no secret that Varka in Genshin Impact launched with underwhelming numbers and lacked synergy with a fair few of his teammates. He lacked a Lauma to his Nefer or an Escoffier to his Skirk. Version 6.6 will give Varka exactly that, as Nicole's ability kit lives up to the expectations set by her rumors, and arguably surpasses them in some respects.
