Amazon Luna notified subscribers that, effective April 10, the streaming service would no longer allow users to purchase individual games or third-party subscriptions on an à la carte basis. However, this does not mean that Amazon Luna is being discontinued altogether, as Amazon is instead doubling down on GameNight and other experiences for users to peruse.

In short, Amazon Luna allows users to stream and play various games on supported devices, such as a desktop web browser or a mobile device. Amazon Luna offers two distinct subscription tiers, called Standard and Premium. Standard is included with a monthly Amazon Prime subscription at no additional cost, and includes access to a rotating list of games. Amazon Luna Premium, which requires a separate subscription at $9.99 per month, and offers a larger game library to pick from. As of October 2025, Amazon Luna's branding has overtaken the former Prime Gaming label, as the services are now merged together.
