Karl Urban is no stranger to adaptations, and there's one in particular that he's ready to star in.
Urban is currently awaiting the release of Mortal Kombat II as he's joined the cast as the iconic gaming character Johnny Cage, who was introduced in the original 1992 Mortal Kombat game. 2021's Mortal Kombat reboot was a major streaming hit despite earning a modest $84 million at the worldwide box office. The streaming success on HBO Max has led to a sequel set to release on May 15.
In an interview with Square Mile, Urban spoke about his recent roles, including Prime Video's The Boys as it begins to release its final season, and the upcoming Mortal Kombat sequel. However, there is one gaming franchise that Urban would love to be a part of and that he describes as "one of my favorites." When asked about which gaming adaptations he would like to step into, Urban's answer makes a lot of sense:
