YouTube has announced it will officially be raising the price for YouTube Premium in the United States. The change has already seen many fans canceling their subscriptions to the ad-free YouTube service.

YouTube Premium has been a popular addition to the platform for many users, allowing fans to watch their favorite content creators without ad breaks. The monthly subscription service touts the removal of ads from the platform as one of its biggest features, cutting out both pre-video and mid-roll ad breaks. YouTube Premium even allows subscribers to download videos for offline viewing, while also adding background audio on YouTube's mobile app while a device is locked. However, users paying for Premium are now going to see a noticeable spike in their subscription fees in the near future.
