Baldur's Gate 3 Returns With Official New Release April 24

The future of the Baldur's Gate franchise is a bit uncertain at the moment, though it's been made clear by Baldur's Gate 3 developers at Larian Studios that they won't be involved in BG4, whenever that ends up happening. Wizards of the Coast has been adamant that the next game is definitely coming at some point, but haven't provided any sort of timeline for what fans can expect.

Baldur's Gate 3 itself, on the other hand, officially received its last major content update from Larian back with Patch 8, which introduced several new subclasses and was a beautiful sendoff for fans. Larian is now focusing their efforts on the highly anticipated Divinity game that was announced at last year's The Game Awards in epic fashion.

However, while major content updates and new Baldur's Gate 3 gameplay features aren't going to happen, tabletop fans will definitely want to mark their calendars for April 24, with an exciting new release from Merchoid set to drop.
