With insiders recently revealing that The Last of Us Part III is set to be Naughty Dog's third project in development, it joins the latest flurry of hints surrounding the highly anticipated sequel. Earlier this month, Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann himself hinted at there being a "few stops" left on the road when it comes to The Last of Us' journey. Could all this mean that Ellie's story is not yet over?

At the time of writing, The Last of Us Part III has not yet been officially confirmed, but with The Last of Us Part II offering fans an ambiguous ending, the story has been left open for whatever Naughty Dog decides to do next. In the meantime, fans have been discussing when we can expect a third installment, if it was ever to come to fruition.
