More Disney Games Have Been Delisted on Steam

A massive purge of Disney games just occurred on Steam, as the Mouse House has just removed 13 of its titles from the PC gaming platform. Since its inception in 1923, Disney has become one of the most well-recognized movie studios around, releasing some of the most iconic movies ever made and achieving incredible financial success, with 17 films that have grossed over $1 billion. Beyond its own animated films, Disney has also made prominent acquisitions of popular brands such as Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars, further strengthening its overall dominance.

Disney has also been a major player in the world of video games ever since the release of its first title, 1981’s Mickey Mouse on the Game & Watch. The film giant also had its own in-house game developer/publisher, Disney Interactive, though it closed in 2016 following the discontinuation of the Disney Infinity franchise. Still, Disney continues to see its brand and characters attached to many titles, most prominently in Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts, a crossover between the Final Fantasy franchise and Disney worlds and characters.
