Nintendo doesn't exactly give away games for free very often, and even when free trials or games are offered, you almost always need a NIntendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership for it. However, a brand-new game is being offered for 100% free from Nintendo right now, and you don't need any kind of subscription to get it.
In fact, all you'll need is a Switch or Switch 2 console, access to the Nintendo eShop, and an internet connection to download the game. It's as simple as that. It's similar to how Nintendo handled the release of Jump Rope Challenge back in 2020, but this latest freebie features one of Nintendo's most iconic characters in a starring role.
