Blizzard is Helping Develop Fable Reboot

Xbox's Matt Booty has revealed that Blizzard is assisting with the development of the cinematics in the upcoming Fable reboot. While the majority of Fable's development is still being handled by Playground Games, Blizzard is there to give a helping hand in an area where the studio is well-versed in producing top-quality work.

Excitement continues to build for the upcoming Fable reboot. It was announced back in 2020 and is the first new game in the franchise since Fable: The Journey in 2012. The latest installment sees Forza Horizon developer Playground Games take the reins from the now-defunct Lionhead Studios, marking a brand-new and exciting chapter for the franchise. The developer started 2026 with a fresh Fable gameplay trailer, confirming its plans to launch the game later this year.
