Paramount and Activision's untitled Call of Duty movie finally has a release date. The Call of Duty film will officially premiere in theaters two years from now, in summer 2028. The Call of Duty movie is being directed by Peter Burg, whose previous credits include The Leftovers, Friday Night Lights, Hancock, and Battleship, as well as co-written by Burg and Taylor Sheridan of Yellowstone fame.

A leaker says Activision will drop Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 in October 2026, making this Fall all the more stacked in terms of big releases.

According to Activision and Paramount, the Call of Duty movie has been "designed to thrill its massive global fan base by delivering on the hallmarks of what fans love about the iconic series, while boldly expanding the franchise to entirely new audiences." Call of Duty is one of the biggest video game franchises of all time, all but guaranteeing successful box office results when the movie finally releases in June 2028.
