First released back in 1997 as the seventh main installment in Square Enix's Final Fantasy franchise, Final Fantasy VII was the entry that saw the otherwise underrated series break into mainstream media, so it was perhaps no surprise it was the first in a remake trilogy back in 2020 with Final Fantasy VII Remake, followed by Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in 2024. With the third and final entry expected to launch some time in 2027, hype is still very much alive and kicking, but a recent announcement may spell disappointment for some fans.
Unfortunately, due to the collaboration between Square Enix and Powerwash Simulator developer Futurlab coming to an end, the Final Fantasy VII Remake DLC for the beloved simulation game is coming to an end. Arriving back in March 2023, the Midgar Special Pack was a free download for Powerwash Simulator, featuring a mini-campaign with five locations and vehicles from the Final Fantasy VII Remake. However, as of 19 May, the Midgar Special Pack will no longer be available for Powerwash Simulator, with the developers revealing that it would be delisted after this date.
