After several rumors and leaks in 2025 surrounding the potential release of Half-Life 3, hype around the game hit an all-time high last year, despite predictions not panning out. The status of the game remains under wraps, assuming Valve is even working on it at all, and while that would be enough to deter any other fandom, HL3 hopefuls never say die.

That said, it's been a long and tumultuous ride for Half-Life fans with one disappointment after another, and players are in desperate need of a win. Luckily, it appears one of Valve's other major IPs is making a triumphant 2026 return, and it's one that will keep us busy until Half-Life 3 eventually gets some form of announcement or confirmation from Valve.
