Batman: Arkham Asylum came out all the way back in 2009, but the story penned by the DC legend Paul Dini has remained in the public consciousness ever since. It was one of the strongest starts for a video game franchise in the past few decades, taking the classic Batman-versus-Joker setup and turning it into an engaging, atmospheric action-adventure romp.
Despite a heavily popular trilogy, WB has had some missteps along the way, with the polarizing Batman: Arkham Origins, and the lore-linked Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which had a disastrous launch, followed by a rough live service period. Batman: Arkham Shadow breathed some fresh life into the series, but it wasn't quite enough, given the limited VR audience.
Naturally, fans want a comeback. Over on X, folks are anticipating the return of Batman: Arkham Asylum, and it seems like it's going to be a pretty fun homecoming.
