Hideki Kamiya Wants To Make Okami And Viewtiful Joe Sequels

For years, fans have been clamoring for a Viewtiful Joe 3 from Capcom. And if not a proper sequel, then, at the very least, a collection of the first two games similar to Mega Man's legacy anthologies. As it turns out, the creator of Viewtiful Joe feels the same way. What's more, he also wants an Okami sequel as well.

A remake of a remake of Resident Evil actually isn't such a bad idea.

In a wide-ranging conversation with fellow developer Ikumi Nakamura, legendary creator Hideki Kamiya shared his hopes for sequels to his creations. Kamiya famously directed Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry before helping create Viewtiful Joe and its sequel Viewtiful Joe 2, as well as Okami. He then went on to establish PlatinumGames, the team behind Bayonetta and Nier: Automata. Kamiya has since left PlatinumGames.

In the interview, which has since been transcribed by PC Gamer, Kamiya issued a plea to Capcom to let him see a sequel through for Okami and Viewtiful Joe.
