The achievement and trophy systems have a long, complex history. Although Xbox popularized achievements on consoles, Sony followed suit on PlayStation not long after. Achievements and Trophies have been a staple of both platforms for ages, but at times, they also share something in common: floods of Trophy Games.
During the Xbox 360 era, there was a rampant attempt to release "easy Gamerscore" titles, where you could feasibly earn 1000/1000 achievements in a given game in minutes, or even seconds.
