The first Hogwarts Legacy game really did prove to be very successful for Warner Bros. and Avalanche Studios, with fans praising the decision to create an entirely new story within the Wizarding World defined in the Harry Potter books and films.
It still serves as the third most played single-player game on the PlayStation 5 in terms of hours, and so it's little surprise that news of a sequel being under development emerged quickly. Interestingly, however, the sequel may also be a pretty vast departure from the first game, and there's a certain portion of the community that's quite excited by that.
The big thing about Hogwarts Legacy is that it takes place around a century before the events of the Harry Potter books and films. This was an exciting departure from the original formula, but it seems that there are plenty of fans who think the approach taken in the game would be a really exciting new way to tell the Harry Potter story.
