A24's adaptation of Elden Ring has found some of its most iconic characters in new set photos.
After two years of earning numerous awards and becoming one of the best-selling games of all-time, development on an adaptation of the FromSoftware fantasy game quietly began when writer/director Alex Garland approached A24 with a spec script for the film, which was later greenlit in May 2025. Development quickly sped up thereafter, with Beef's Cailee Spaeny, Heartstopper's Kit Connor and Paddington's Ben Whishaw all joined the cast in undisclosed roles.
Now, with a few weeks of filming already underway in the United Kingdom, new Elden Ring set photos have been shared online by various users. Twitter user UnBoxPHD began by posting two photos of the major character Queen Marika, seemingly confirming that she's being played by Mayor of Kingstown alum Emma Laird, albeit no specific characters have been confirmed by A24 at the time of writing.
