We've talked time and time again about how Steam has tons of games for pretty much every genre, but survival projects really rise to the top of sales charts. It's common to see one pop up every month and gain some traction, across a variety of themes and genres like sci-fi and fantasy.
There's something refreshing about kicking off a whole new run with new eyes and retaining the knowledge you had from prior runs. A lot of games, like Don't Starve, were really ahead of the curve in predicting how popular this thriving genre would become. Slowly but surely, developers would iterate on what came before them, and many studios have survival down to a literal science at this point.
That said, there are plenty of games releasing each week that are great for survival enthusiasts. You can pick one up on Steam now that evokes a lot of prior Far Cry games, as well as modern hits like Valheim.
