Saros Review Scores Breeze Past Pokopia And Resident Evil Requiem

Saros is PlayStation's first big exclusive of the year and the highly anticipated follow-up to Housemarque's Returnal. The review scores are now in for Saros ahead of its release next week, and not only has it bettered what Returnal achieved, but it's the highest-scoring game of the year so far.

That's something that already takes some doing with two games having already scored 90, and three more right behind them on 89. While its score could certainly fall as more reviews are published, as it stands, Saros has bettered all of them. At least on OpenCritic where it currently has a score of 92.

It debuted to a 94 but has dropped ever so slightly as more reviews have gone up.

That's more than Resident Evil Requiem, which set the early pace for the highest-rated game of 2026, more than Pokemon Pokopia, which took the lead from Leon and Grace, and even more than Opus: Prism Peak, the indie game that came out of nowhere to become the best-reviewed game of the year last week.
