Here's the good news: Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is real. The long-awaited remake of Assassin's Creed 4 is coming July 9, 2026, meaning we only have a few short months until we're sailing across the Caribbean in the Jackdaw once again. Unfortunately, there's a bit of a catch: a large chunk of gamers won't be able to play at launch.
We always suspected this would be the case, but now it's official: Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the Ubisoft Store, Steam and the Epic Games Store. It will not be coming to PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. There's also no word on a Nintendo Switch 2 version at this stage.
Despite the fact the current generation of consoles has been around for more than half a decade now, there are still millions of gamers without a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. Obviously, if you want to play Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced for yourself, now would be the time to invest. With GTA 6 on the way, you probably knew you'd have to take the plunge eventually. It's just a shame the price of consoles...
