Released back in 2022 as the first installments in the ninth generation of Pokémon, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet took players to the Paldea Region, and unlike previous entries in the long-running video game series, this one features vast open worlds with three stories available for the player to complete. With the introduction of 120 additional Pokémon, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet were praised for their story beats, but received mixed reviews based on a myriad of technical problems.
