Final Fantasy 14 Gets Surprise Evangelion Crossover That Sounds Too Good To Believe

There's a lot going on in the world of Final Fantasy 14. Square Enix just announced that the decade-plus MMO is getting a brand new expansion in Evercold, as well as two new classes (tank and DPS), and a significant overhaul for the game's mechanics. Plus, the game is coming to Switch 2 this year.

It's a lot to take in, but perhaps the biggest announcement from the Final Fantasy 14 Fan Fest keynote in Anaheim, California, was the reveal of a Neon Genesis Evangelion crossover. We were there live to see it unfold, and the crowd went absolutely wild when the iconic EVA Unit-01 design popped on screen.

This surprise came out of nowhere during the keynote (which you can find on YouTube), and although Final Fantasy 14 has had crossovers with different IPs in the past, this is pretty huge. It could end up bringing in even more players to the increasingly popular Final Fantasy MMO.
