Pokémon Fans Stunned At How Far X & Y Has Come After Leaked Footage

Fans are shocked at the recent reveal of development builds for Pokémon X and Y, marveling at just how far the games have come. X and Y were part of Pokémon's sixth generation, and were released for the Nintendo 3DS on October 12, 2013 — the second-last pair of Pokémon games to be released on that handheld prior to Sun and Moon in 2016.

Praised in their day, Pokémon X and Y introduced one of the franchise's most beloved regions — Kalos — and one of its most popular and enduring mechanics, Mega Evolution. It was also the first game in the series to render Pokémon in fully 3D polygonal models, which has now become standard for the series. But as it turns out, Pokémon X and Y had much humbler beginnings, and fans are shocked to see them come to life.
