AI seems to be everywhere these days. In fact, some people reading this may assume it was written by AI (it's not). Regardless, though, it's a hot button topic, with many feeling that using AI is sacrilege and has no place in video games. With the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 expected to become one of the biggest games ever released, it's worth pondering how heavily AI might feature in it.
Thankfully, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick, believes that AI should only be used as an assistant rather than a replacement. A tool to help creators make their jobs easier rather than a shortcut to a cheaper, smaller workforce. Speaking at the Semafor World Economy 2026, Zelnick didn't hold back on his negative feelings towards AI replacing people and their work.
Strauss Zelnick went on to explain that all their entertainment work is done on computers, so having new tools to help is always exciting. AI is inevitably here to stay, so embracing it as a support tool rather than a cost-saving device seems like the approach Take-Two Interactive and, by proxy, Grand Theft Auto 6 will follow. This will come as a huge relief to gamers...
