Final Fantasy fans have been enjoying the series for nearly four decades now, as the original NES release proliferated to tons of other platforms. Over the years, Square Enix jumped from the NES to the SNES, then to the PlayStation, before settling on a multiplatform strategy.
Now, you can pick up pretty much any Final Fantasy on any platform, barring a few exceptions like timed exclusivity. Given how many remakes and remasters there are of the classic series, the world is your oyster if you're a fan. Square Enix has been prepping people for a full-on shift to the PlayStation 5 for a while now, and PS4 fans can be considered on notice.
Over on YouTube, Square Enix just dropped a warning for any fans who are still using their PlayStation 4. In fact, their days of support are now numbered, and we have a window. While it's not ideal, at least we have an idea of what to expect in advance.
