Released back in 2024 as the sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake, marking the second installment in the trilogy that aims to remake 1997's Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Following the story of Cloud and friends as they embark on a journey across the Planet to prevent the megacorporation Shinra from exploiting life essence, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was considered a hit, even going on to be considered for the coveted Game of the Year award. Whilst fans wait for the third and final installment in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, it seems as though the beloved Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has received a limited-time free download in the meantime.
From 28 April onward, players interested in checking out Square Enix's Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will have the opportunity to try-before-they-buy, courtesy of a free demo on both the Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X. With the final game consisting of fourteen chapters, the demo will allow you to experience the first two with the first focusing on Cloud in a flashback which sees him witness the Nibelheim incident.
